The Hebrews (Jewish People) Impact on Western Law and Ethics (Beliefs of right and wrong.)
The Ancient Hebrews' (Jewish people) religious teachings contained in the Old Testament (called the Torah or Law by Jews) and in the such writings as the Ten Commandments (found in the Old Testament) have greatly influenced the religious beliefs and legal systems of the West. For example, the three monotheistic religions (those that beleive in one God) or Judaism, Christianity and Islam all uphold the beleif in one God.
According to Jewish scripture, God's laws were delivered to the ancient Hebrews by Moses. The Ten Commandments had a great influence on the development of Western moral and ethical teachings.
